Overview

miRToolsGallery is a database of miRNA tools. It provides the following services: (a) Search(b) Filter and (c) Rank the tools. Our database aim to make it easy for researchers to find the right tools or data source for their own specific study in miRNA field. And it’s also very convenient for writing a tools review paper. Now we have collect above 1000 tools. miRToolsGallery will update when every new 100 tools add in. The first public online was in 1st Oct, 2016, and latest update time is 22nd April, 2018(v1.2).

  • Filter and Rank : Give user max flexibility to filter and rank the tools and return a table view.
  • Tutorials : Give two application examples and tell user how to use miRToolsGallery.
  • Tags Gallery : Print Word Cloud for the tags.
  • Logo Gallery : Randomly list logo of tools in the database, give each tool evenly opportunity to be find by user.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding single-stranded RNAs (20-23 nts) that are known to act as post-transcriptional and translational regulators of gene expression. Although, they were initially overlooked, their role in many important biological processes, such as development, cell differentiation, and cancer has been established in recent times. In spite of their biological significance, the identification of miRNA genes in newly sequenced organisms is still based, to a large degree, on extensive use of evolutionary conservation, which is not always available.

sRNATarget

Accurate prediction of sRNA targets plays a key role in determining sRNA functions. Here we introduced two mathematical models, sRNATargetNB and sRNATargetSVM, for prediction of sRNA targets using Nai ve Bayes method and support vector machines (SVM), respectively. The training dataset was composed of 46 positive samples (real sRNA-targets interaction) and 86 negative samples (no interaction between sRNA and targets). The leave-one-out cross-validation (LOOCV) classification accuracy was 91.67% for sRNATargetNB, and 100.00% for sRNATargetSVM.

Increasing studies have shown that the interactions between microRNAs (miRNAs) and environmental factors (EFs) play critical roles in determining phenotypes and diseases. In this study, we revealed a number of important biological insights by analyzing and modeling of miRNA-EF interactions and their relationships with human diseases. We demonstrated that the miRNA signatures of EFs could provide new information on EFs.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are important regulatory molecules. A critical step in elucidating miRNA function is identifying potential miRNA targets. However, few reliable tools have been developed for identifying miRNA targets in plants.

A personalized microRNA microarray normalization method using a logistic regression model

Submitted by ChenLiang on Fri, 09/02/2016 - 21:59

MicroRNA (miRNA) is a set of newly discovered non-coding small RNA molecules. Its significant effects have contributed to a number of critical biological events including cell proliferation, apoptosis development, as well as tumorigenesis. High-dimensional genomic discovery platforms (e.g. microarray) have been employed to evaluate the important roles of miRNAs by analyzing their expression profiling.

The identification of novel miRNAs has significant biological and clinical importance. However, none of the known miRNA features alone is sufficient for accurately detecting novel miRNAs. The aim of this paper is to integrate these features in a straightforward manner for detecting miRNAs with better accuracy.
